Safe water is something most of us take for granted. The reality is over 780,000,000* people in the world today lack access to safe, clean drinking water. One out of seven people in the world will spend hours every day of their lives in pursuit of water to survive and seven people die every minute of every day because of the scarcity of safe water that can be used for drinking or cooking

carrywater frontOver the years there have been technological advancements in bringing clean water to those in need. Several corporations, charities and groups have been working to solve the water problem in under developed countries.

Many projects take years to develop and in some cases, require specific levels of technical skill to maintain, and complicated infrastructure is required to support these water systems.

While these efforts are noble and to be admired, we have chosen to address the “NOW factor”, something that will work for more people NOW! Something that is easily maintained and sustainable in the most rugged of conditions. A water filtration device that is light and easily portable as well as affordable enough to provide multiple units for every village.

pourwater howitworksUntil clean water can be piped into every village, Our Living Water System meets all this criterion. In addition, it is cost effective to supply many units to one village. Our field testing shows a dramatic improvement in the health of the village within 10 days of changing to having on going clean water.

We have developed a lightweight water reservoir and filtration process - The Living Water System. It can be deployed worldwide, quickly and effectively.   The reservoir is manufactured in North Carolina using a fabric which has a polyester coating over nylon webbing. The "X" pattern allows the reservoir to be hung from the side to side or front to rear which makes it convenient and versatile. The reservoir holds approximately 8 gallons (30.28 liters) of water and comes with a 1 gallon bucket for filling that also doubles as a tote for transport and storage. At the bottom of the reservoir a watertight fitting is installed for the filter attachment. The filter meets or exceeds EPA requirements for filtration and purification at .1 microns. One of the best rates in the industry.

Why It Works

With the technology derived from kidney dialysis, the filter developers worked with a fiber manufacturer to improve the hollow fiber membrane technology. To improve both the filtration rates and longevity of the filter, they needed something even more precise and rugged. The fiber composition had to deliver exactly 0.1 & 0.02 micron filtration 100% of the time to ensure no bacteria would get through, and the membranes had to be sturdy enough to withstand backwashing which allows the filter to be cleaned and reused.

These filters, used exclusively for the Living Water System ©, are small, portable, easy-to-use, reliable, inexpensive, and with simple maintenance can last a lifetime without needing to be replaced.

filtertip howitworksThe proprietary water filters are comprised of tiny "U" shaped micro-tubes that allow water to enter their core through tiny micro-pores. The high number of those tiny tubes and their surface area allows the filter to have one of the fastest flow rates in the world. This high flow rate eliminates the need to store water, reducing the possibility of water contamination after the filtration process.

Each filter is certified for ABSOLUTE microns; that means there is no pore size larger than 0.1 micron in size. This makes it impossible for harmful bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E. coli, Giradia, Vibrio Cholera and Salmonella Typhi (which cause Cholera and Typhoid) to pass through the SILVER E Biological Filter. At 7 log (99.99999%) the filter attains the highest level of filtration available today.

These filters used exclusively by the Living Water System © have been tested by independent and qualified research laboratories according to U.S. EPA standards for water filters, and meet or exceed EPA standards. This revolutionary technology used for the filtration on the Living Water System © has also been tested and verified by the United Nations for use in countries around the world.

The first unit was placed in operation in October of 2013 in the Philippines, following the earthquake and flooding in that island nation. The prototype worked well and provided safe drinking water. Lynn's orphanage received a system in the next missionary visit and the children are now sleeping soundly. We continued to refine the filter system and today have the best filter available and I am proud to say that the entire system is manufactured in the USA at a reasonable cost.

One system can filter and purify enough water for a family of 5 in 3 to 4 hours. A spring, pond, lake, river or hand dug shallow well can provide the water needed to fill the system and provide an entire family with a chance at a healthy life free of waterborne disease.
